Virtual training for assembly tasks: a framework for the analysis of the cognitive impact on operators

The importance of training for operators in industrial contexts is widely highlighted literature. Virtual Reality (VR) technology considered an efficient solution training, since it provides immersive, realistic, and interactive simulations environments where the operator can learn-by-doing, far from risks real field. Its efficacy has been demonstrated by several studies, but a proper assessment operator’s cognitive response terms stress load, during use such technology, still lacking. This paper proposes comprehensive methodology analysis user’s states, suitable each kind sector beyond. Preliminary feasibility refers to virtual assembly agricultural vehicles. proposed protocol allowed understanding operators’ loads optimize VR application, considering mental demand thus avoiding stress, overload, improving user performance.
